Ouray Ice Fest with Marmot

We spent the second week of February in Ouray, Colorado for the Ice Fest. They have built an amazing ice piped park that hosts the best climbers in the world for 4 days of climbing, slideshows and fun! We also were lucky enough to spend some time with some of our favorite people from Marmot corporate, Andy Meyer and Brian Rashap! We had a great time and will continue to go back!

Quick afternoon climb in Ouray

Brian took me out for my 3rd climbing trip up ice, but we didn't get started until late in the day, so we had to be quick. The route was way at the end and was a bit tricky to climb up...which made it quite the frustrating issue!
Brian repelling after setting the top rope
Vanessa climbing happy and well...until i smacked myself in the face with the hammer of my ice axe...
This is me telling the story to Brian after my momentary bout of tourettes syndrom!

Ouray Competition

Tikka and i got a chance to watch part of the competition while Brian went out and climbed with his K2 buddy, Billy. It was a great competition and it was a lot of fun to have Tikka see everyone. She is such a people lover!

Ice Fest Party

What is the ice fest without a "Dress to Impress" party? Brian takes his role seriously.
Here is the gang. Monkey(in the purple wig) was kind enough to bring up some props so we could participate...

Hikin' in the snow!

We had to take our sweet little baby on one of our favorite hikes on a pretty nice day in Estes. Tikka actually ran the trail around 5 times as Brian would run ahead and then she would run to me and back to him. She LOVED it! And she is getting so big! We are taking her to the vet tomorrow for her 4 month shots, and i am sure that she will be around 35 lbs!!
Momma and baby!!
When the puppy slows down, just give her a lift!
This was a bit of a training session...it went alright, but she is such a dolly!

Brian and i spent Christmas in Adel, IA and we had a wonderful time with his family. It was a lovely relaxing holiday filled with little boy laughter and puppy woofs! In lieu of commenting on each picture, i just posted a group of them. Enjoy!
